The 15th Japan-CARICOM Consultation

July 2012

The 15th Japan-CARICOM Consultation was held on July 23, 2012 at the CARICOM Secretariat in Guyana.

  1. Senior officials from Japan and CARICOM member states exchanged views on a wide range of issues including climate change and disaster management.
  2. The Japan-CARICOM cooperation was reviewed based on the frameworks adopted at the first and second Ministerial Meetings held in 2000 and 2010 respectively.
  3. The year of 2014 was designated as the Japan-CARICOM Friendship Year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Japan-CARICOM Consultation.
