Meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU and H.E.Ms. Éléonore Caroit, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France

On August 31, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with H.E.Ms. Éléonore Caroit, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, during her visit to Japan.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU welcomed the opportunity to meet again since the G7 Development Ministers’ Meeting and extended her congratulations on the success of the G7 Evian Summit. She also expressed her intention to further advance bilateral cooperation between Japan and France, which has been developing remarkably through exchanges such as the Japan-France Summit Meeting held during President Macron’s visit to Japan in April this year.
- In response, Minister Delegate Caroit stated that there exists a broad cooperative relationship between Japan and France, as demonstrated on the occasion of President Macron’s visit to Japan, and expressed her hope to further enhance bilateral cooperation, including in the fields of development and global health.
- Furthermore, the two sides also exchanged views on regional situations, including Ukraine, the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East.
