Diplomatic Relations:

  • Established on 7th September 1992.
  • Embassy of the Republic of Armenia opened in Tokyo on 13 July 2010.
  • Embassy of Japan opened in Yerevan on 1 January 2015.

  • Number of Japanese nationals residing in Armenia: 30 (Oct 2019)

Trade with Japan (2020):

  • Exports to Japan: 2.21 billion yen (clothing, aluminum and aluminum alloys, electrical machinery, tobacco, etc.)
  • Imports from Japan: 0.82 billion yen (construction machines, rubber tires and tubes, essential oils and perfumes, non-metallic mineral ware, power generating machine, etc.)
