Basic Data

Diplomatic Relations:

  • Established on 7th September 1992.
  • Embassy of the Republic of Armenia opened in Tokyo on 13 July 2010.
  • Embassy of Japan opened in Yerevan on 1 January 2015.

  • Number of Japanese nationals residing in Armenia: 27 (Oct 2017)

Trade with Japan (2017):

  • Exports to Japan: 1.17 billion yen (clothing, aluminum and aluminum alloys, cigarettes, machinery and transport equipment, alcoholic beverages, etc.)
  • Imports from Japan: 2.17 billion yen (motor vehicles, rubber tires and tubes, machinery for construction and mining, precision instruments, etc.)
