Cultural Exchange
In 2012, the Government of Japan dispatched a cultural exchange mission, headed by Dr. Takashi Shiraishi, President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), and consisting of experts from various fields, to Myanmar in collaboration with The Japan Foundation.
The mission aims to discuss future policies for the expansion and enhancement of cultural exchanges and cultural cooperation between Japan and Myanmar with the government officials and other experts of Myanmar. It reported the results of the discussion to the Japanese government as a policy recommendation.
In 2014, to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations, various kinds of commemorative events were held in both countries.
