Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize Memorial Symposium will be held in March in Accra, Ghana. Lectures and panel discussions will be given by eminent stakeholders from all over the world and Africa, which would contribute to enhancing medical research and medical services in Africa.

The First Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize Conferment Ceremony was held during the TICAD IV. The Medical Research Category prize was confered to Professor Brian Greenwood, Manson Professor of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Medical Services Categroy prize was confered to Professor Miriam Were, Chairman of National AIDS Control Council of Kenya.
