Japan-Angola Relations

  1. On March 29, the First Japan-Angola Policy Consultations was held in Tokyo. The representative of the Japanese side was Mr. HORIUCHI Toshihiko, Assistant Minister and Director-General for African Affairs Department, and the Angolan side was represented by H.E. Mr. Miguel Dialamícua, Director of Asia and Oceania, Ministry of External Relations.
  2. During the consultations, the officials exchanged views on the further progress of the bilateral relations including economic relations and development cooperation. Both sides also exchanged opinions on the situation in Africa, East Asia, Ukraine and Israel and Palestine, as well as on the cooperation in the international arena such as strengthening the functions of the United Nations including the Security Council reform.
  3. Japan and Angola shared the view that two countries would continue to strengthen cooperation to further deepen the bilateral ties.
