Statements and Messages by the Foreign Minister

November 18, 2025
  1. Japan welcomes the adoption of the United Nations Security Council resolution (UNSCR) 2803 on the situation in Gaza on November 17 local time, which endorses and calls on all parties to implement the “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict” announced by the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, in September of this year.
  2. Japan commends the diplomatic efforts of the concerned countries, including the United States, which led the drafting of the resolution, to maintain the ceasefire, stabilize security and rebuild Gaza. Japan hopes that security and stability in Gaza will be restored as soon as possible.
  3. For the mid- to long-term peace and stability of the region, a priority should be placed on the maintenance of the ceasefire. In addition, a steady transition to the next phase is of critical importance as well. Japan will fulfill the role it should and can play, through engaging in efforts of humanitarian assistance, early recovery and reconstruction, and also dispatching personnel to support the provisional governance mechanism as well, in order to advance the “Comprehensive Plan”, implement the resolution, and further advance one step closer toward the realization of a two-state solution.
