Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister OZORA by the Former Members of the U.S. House of Representatives

October 19, commencing at 2:15 p.m., for approximately 45 minutes, Mr. OZORA Koki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by the Former Members of the United States House of Representatives, who are visiting Japan.
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister OZORA welcomed the delegation’s visit to Japan and stated that the Japan-U.S. Alliance is the cornerstone of Japan’s foreign policy, and security and the foundation of peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister OZORA also stated that, in order to further strengthen the Japan-U.S. Alliance, it is important to build relationships of trust at every level in a multi-layered manner. He added that, as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, he intends to devote his efforts to promoting exchanges between the younger generations of Japan and the United States.
- In response, the delegation stated that there is bipartisan support in the U. S. Congress for the U.S.-Japan Alliance and expressed their intention to continue contributing to the development of U.S.-Japan relations in their capacity as Former Members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
