Meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Landau

On October 2, commencing at 1:30 p.m. local time, for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting Washington D.C., held a meeting with the Honorable Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America.
- The two sides exchanged views on regional affairs in the Indo-Pacific, including the Pacific Island countries, and in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as on Japan-U.S. cooperation, including in the area of security.
- The two sides reaffirmed the importance of the Japan-U.S. Alliance and their commitment to peace and stability in the region.
