State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII’s Visit to the United States (Honolulu)
Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the United States (Honolulu) from September 18 to September 20.
1. Meetings with the Governor of the State of Hawaii
On September 18, State Minister HORII met with Mr. Josh Green, Hawaii Governor. He expressed solidarity regarding the serious devastation caused by a series of hurricanes and exchanged views on tourism, economic relations between Japan and Hawaii, and regional exchanges.
2. Meeting with the Deputy Commander of U.S. Pacific Command
On September 18, State Minister Horii met with Lieutenant General George B. Rowell, Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, and exchanged views on Japan-U.S. security cooperation and regional developments.
3. Attendance at the Memorial Service for Former Hawaii Governor George Ariyoshi
State Minister HORII attended State Services on September 18 and Celebration of Life on 19 for Mr. George Ariyoshi, late Hawaii Governor, who passed away in April 2026. At these ceremonies, he read a message from Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan on her behalf.
