On September 15, during his visit to the Philippines, Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with Mr. Leo Herrera-Lim, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Policy, and exchanged views with Japanese business representatives in Manila.
1. Meeting with Mr. Leo Herrera-Lim, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Policy
On September 15, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI held a meeting with Mr. Leo Herrera-Lim, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Policy, in Manila.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI stated that Japan strongly hopes that the process towards the formal establishment of the Bangsamoro Government will be steadily implemented and also expressed his desire to continue to strengthen bilateral relations in a wide range of areas such as security, maritime cooperation, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
Undersecretary Lim expressed his intention to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas and continue to cooperate with Japan towards the realisation of peace in Mindanao.
2. Exchange of Views with Japanese business representatives
On September 15, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI exchanged views on the current business situation and challenges in the Philippines with Japanese business representatives in Manila.
