Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI by Mayor Todd Gloria of the City of San Diego, State of California, United States

On September 8, from 1:30 pm for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Mayor Todd Gloria of the City of San Diego, State of California, United States.
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI welcomed Mayor Gloria to Japan and stated that the current strong Japan-U.S. relations are supported by multi-layered exchanges, including those at the state and city levels.
- Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI and Mayor Gloria exchanged views on Japan-U.S. cooperation in a wide range of fields, including economy and people-to-people exchanges.
- Mayor Gloria stated that Japan is an important partner for the U.S. and the City of San Diego and expressed appreciation for the cooperation between the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Navy in the City of San Diego. Mayor Gloria also conveyed their intention to continue strengthening relations with Japan at the city level as well.
