On August 28 (August 27 local time), the Government of Japan received from the Government of the Republic of Paraguay the notification confirming the completion of its internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the "Agreement between Japan and the Republic of Paraguay for the Promotion and Protection of Investment" (signed on December 5, 2025). Accordingly, this Agreement will enter into force on September 26, 2026.

This Agreement provides for comprehensive and detailed rules regarding promotion and protection of investment between Japan and the Republic of Paraguay. The entry into force of this Agreement will contribute to the promotion of bilateral investments as well as the further development of economic relations between the two countries.
