Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team in Response to the Flash Flood in Nepal

  1. On the morning of August 26 (local time), large-scale flash flooding and mudslides occurred in the Nepal - China border area, causing devastating damage.
  2. On September 3, in response to the request from the Government of Nepal for assistance, the Government of Japan decided to dispatch a team of experts of the Japan Disaster Relief Expert Team (JDR) to provide support for identification.
  3. The Government of Japan stands ready for providing assistance as much as possible, including the dispatch of this expert team, in light of humanitarian aspect and the friendly relations with Nepal.
