September 1, 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) established the Cyber Security Policy Division under the National Security Policy Division in the Foreign Policy Bureau on September 1, 2026.

  1. As the importance of cyberspace has increased, cyber threats are rapidly growing. 2. In cooperation with relevant government agencies and a wide range of actors in the private sector, MOFA will continue to advance diplomatic efforts to realize a free, fair, and secure cyberspace, especially promoting the rule of law, taking measures to deter attacks, providing capacity building supports to like-minded countries, and leveraging cyber consultations and other forms of dialogue with relevant countries and organizations.
