Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief Self-Defense Forces Unit in Response to the Damage Caused by Forest and Land Fires in the Republic of Indonesia

Today, on August 28, the Government of Japan has decided to dispatch the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Self-Defense Forces Unit to the Republic of Indonesia for fire extinguishing activities, in response to the damage caused by the forest and land fire in Kalimantan, Indonesia, in light of the humanitarian perspective and the friendly relationship between the two countries.
Upon completion of the necessary preparations, the JSDF will depart for Indonesia.
