The Visit of Foreign Minister MOTEGI to Turkmenistan, Slovakia, Austria and Mongolia

Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, will visit Turkmenistan, Slovakia, Austria and Mongolia from August 29 to September 4.
- During this visit, Minister MOTEGI will hold meetings with foreign ministers and other key government officials of each country, and will attend the 8th Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Group (V4) plus Japan in Slovakia.
- As the international situation grows increasingly challenging, Minister MOTEGI will reaffirm further strategic collaboration with these countries towards the maintenance and strengthening of a free and open international order based on the rule of law, based on the Updated “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) .”
- Furthermore, during meetings in each country, Minister MOTEGI will exchange views toward strengthening bilateral cooperation on such fields as energy, infrastructure, science, and technology cooperation, leveraging Japan’s strengths.
