The 9th Consular Dialogue between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam

On August 25, the 9th Consular Dialogue between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam was held in Hanoi. Mr. MIBAE Taisuke, Assistant Minister/Director-General of the Consular Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. DOAN Hoang Minh, Director-General of the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam attended the Dialogue, both with the participation of other officials in charge.
- At the Dialogue, following the two leaders’ concurrence at the Japan-Viet Nam Summit Meeting held in May this year to strengthen consular cooperation in light of active people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, the two sides addressed matters of mutual interest including issues related to their own nationals residing in each other’s countries, and exchanged views in a constructive manner. They concurred on working together to address various consular issues between the two countries.
- The next Dialogue will be held in Japan and be scheduled through diplomatic channels.
