Visit to Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI

Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to visit Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic from August 9 to August 16 to hold meetings with government officials and others.
- Central Asia, including Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, is situated at a geopolitically strategic location surrounded by Russia, China, Afghanistan, and other countries, and possesses abundant energy and mineral resources. Strengthening relations with these countries is important for maintaining and reinforcing a free and open international order, as well as for Japan's economic security.
- Building on the outcomes of the first Summit of the “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue as well as bilateral summit meetings last December, exchanges of views are planned to further strengthen bilateral relations.
- While transiting through Istanbul, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri will visit the Organization of Turkic States to exchange views with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the Central Asia and Caucasus region.
