The Fifth Meeting of the Expert Panel on the Implementation Framework for Strategic Development Cooperation (Summary)

On July 31, the fifth meeting of the "Expert Panel on the Implementation Framework for Strategic Development Cooperation" was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- At the outset of the meeting, Professor Emeritus AGATA Koichiro of Waseda University, Chair of the Panel, expressed his hope that panel members would engage in frank and open discussions toward the compilation of the Panel's recommendations.
- This was followed by a presentation from a panel member on the current status and challenges of governance and organizational management in Japanese companies, as well as implications for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Subsequently, panel members engaged in an active exchange of views on the draft outline of the recommendations, including the direction and specific content of the recommendations.
- Based on the discussions held thus far, the Panel will further refine its recommendations and submit them to Foreign Minister MOTEGI.
