Foreign Minister MOTEGI’s Visit to Mexico, Panama and Ecuador
Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan will visit Mexico, Panama and Ecuador, and if circumstances permit, Trinidad and Tobago as well, from August 2 to 9.
Through this visit, Foreign Minister MOTEGI will hold meetings with key government officials in each country on bilateral cooperation—focused primarily on economic and economic security areas such as strengthening the resilience of supply chain, including for critical minerals, and energy—as well as on collaboration to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law. Foreign Minister MOTEGI also intends to reaffirm the further strengthening of relations with Latin American and Caribbean countries with which Japan has historically built relationships of trust and shares fundamental values.
