On July 13 (the same day local time), the Government of Japan received from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan the notification confirming the completion of its internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the "Agreement between Japan and the Republic of Tajikistan for the Liberalisation, Promotion and Protection of Investment" (signed on December 19, 2025). Accordingly, this Agreement will enter into force on August 12, 2026.

This Agreement provides for comprehensive and detailed rules regarding liberalisation, promotion, and protection of investment between Japan and the Republic of Tajikistan. The entry into force of this Agreement will contribute to the promotion of bilateral investments as well as the further development of economic relations between the two countries.
