Foreign Minister MOTEGI meeting with the Chairs of the Japan-Mexico Economic Committee of Keidanren

On July 28, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Mr. KURAISHI Seiji, Chair of the Japan-Mexico Economic Committee of Keidanren and Advisor to Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and Mr. SHIBATA Koji, Chair of the Japan-Mexico Economic Committee of Keidanren and President and CEO of ANA HOLDINGS INC.

  1. At the outset, Chairs KURAISHI and SHIBATA presented Minister MOTEGI with a document entitled “Position on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Review” which had been released on February 17 by Keidanren.
  2. In response, Minister MOTEGI expressed his gratitude for their valuable opinions of business community regarding the review of the USMCA. Furthermore, he also stated that Japan intends to strengthen collaboration with Mexico through enhancing economic dialogue with Mexico, including in the areas of energy and economic security, as well as concretizing cooperation in science and technology, including cutting-edge technologies.
