Exchange of Diplomatic Notes for the Entry into Force of the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Philippines

On July 23, in Manila, the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines exchanged diplomatic notes for the entry into force of the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (“Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement,”or ACSA). With this exchange of notes, the Agreement will enter into force on August 22, 2026.
- The Agreement establishes a framework such as the settlement procedures for the reciprocal provision of supplies and services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The Agreement will facilitate the smooth and prompt provision of supplies and services between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The Agreement was signed on January 15, 2026, in Manila, by Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Hon. Maria Theresa Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.
- The Agreement will also promote closer cooperation between the Self-Defense Forces of Japan and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, serving Japan’s security and enabling Japan to actively contribute to peace and security of the international community.
