Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII by H.E. Kikwete, Board Chair of GPE

On July 15, commencing at 5:30 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Jakaya Kikwete, Board Chair of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
- At the outset, State Minister HORII expressed his appreciation for Chair Kikwete’s significant contribution to the advancement of global education and noted that Japan places great importance on education as a key pillar of promoting human security and stated GPE as an important partner in this regard.
- Chair Kikwete expressed his appreciation for Japan’s longstanding contributions to GPE and conveyed his hope that Japan would continue to play an even greater role in advancing GPE’s efforts.
- The two sides reaffirmed the importance of promoting international cooperation in education and confirmed their commitment to continuing close collaboration.
