Appointment Ceremony for the “Tabi-Regi Supporters” by Foreign Minister MOTEGI
July 15, 2026
On July 15, MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held an appointment ceremony for the “Tabi-Regi Supporters,” presenting letters of appointment to comedian Mr. TONIKAKU (Tonikaku Akarui Yasumura) and to Ms. Yoshiko and Ms. Mahiru of the comedy duo Ganbareruya.
- At the outset, ahead of the summer holiday season, Minister MOTEGI underscored the importance of public relations activities to promote overseas safety measures, including registration on Tabi-Regi, which serves as an emergency “lifeline” connecting Japanese overseas travelers with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then presented letters of appointment to the Tabi-Regi Supporters.
- In response, Mr. TONIKAKU and the two members of Ganbareruya stated that they intend to actively promote overseas safety measures, including registration on Tabi-Regi, through various opportunities.
- Going forward, the three Tabi-Regi Supporters will disseminate information on safety measures overseas, including registration on Tabi-Regi, through a range of videos, such as Tabi-Regi promotional videos and short dramas on the overseas safety measures.
