On July 15, MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held an appointment ceremony for the “Tabi-Regi Supporters,” presenting letters of appointment to comedian Mr. TONIKAKU (Tonikaku Akarui Yasumura) and to Ms. Yoshiko and Ms. Mahiru of the comedy duo Ganbareruya.

  1. At the outset, ahead of the summer holiday season, Minister MOTEGI underscored the importance of public relations activities to promote overseas safety measures, including registration on Tabi-Regi, which serves as an emergency “lifeline” connecting Japanese overseas travelers with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then presented letters of appointment to the Tabi-Regi Supporters.
  2. In response, Mr. TONIKAKU and the two members of Ganbareruya stated that they intend to actively promote overseas safety measures, including registration on Tabi-Regi, through various opportunities.
  3. Going forward, the three Tabi-Regi Supporters will disseminate information on safety measures overseas, including registration on Tabi-Regi, through a range of videos, such as Tabi-Regi promotional videos and short dramas on the overseas safety measures.
