On July 10, commencing at 2:00 p.m., for approximately 20 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by the delegation led by Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri of the Philippines, who are visiting Japan.

  1. State Minister KUNIMITSU, referring that the Philippines is one of Japan's closest like-minded partners that shares fundamental values and principles, welcomed the significant development of cooperation between the two countries across a wide range of fields in recent years. She also expressed her hope for the deepening of mutual understanding through people-to-people exchanges, including among the younger generation, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
  2. In response, Senator Zubiri and his delegation expressed their intention to contribute to the further development of bilateral relations through people-to-people exchanges.
