Visit to Japan by Mr. Atul Khare, Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, the United Nations

Mr. Atul Khare, Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, the United Nations (UN), will visit Japan from July 13 to July 17.

  1. During his stay in Japan, Under-Secretary-General Khare will exchange views regarding current efforts and challenges related to the UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKO) with senior officials of the Government of Japan.
  2. This visit is expected to strengthen coordination between Japan and the UN by deepening the UN’s understanding of Japan’s proactive contributions to maintaining peace and stability of the international community and by fostering discussions to enhance the effectiveness of UN peace operations.
