Foreign Minister MOTEGI’s Visit to Türkiye

Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan will visit Ankara, Türkiye, from July 6 to 9.

  1. Amid the international situation growing more severe, cooperation among like-minded countries has become more important than ever. Against this backdrop, seizing the occasion of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Türkiye, Foreign Minister MOTEGI will travel to attend an NATO Summit-related event.
  2. Also, Foreign Minister MOTEGI will hold meetings with foreign ministers and other counterparts of NATO member countries, as well as partner countries and organizations, to reaffirm the shared recognition that the security of the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific is inseparable. Foreign Minister MOTEGI will also explain the Updated “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” and reconfirm the further advancement of Japan-NATO cooperation and the strengthening of coordination among like-minded countries going forward. In addition, Foreign Minister MOTEGI expects to have candid exchanges of views on the international situation, including about the Middle East and Ukraine, and confirm continued close coordination.
