Courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Andrii SYBIHA by State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU

On June 23, commencing at 8:45 p.m. (same day local time 2:45 p.m.) for approximately 60 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Andrii SYBIHA, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
- At the outset, Foreign Minister SYBIHA welcomed State Minister KUNIMITSU's visit to Ukraine and expressed gratitude for Japan's consistent support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s aggression.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU emphasized the importance of the fundamental principle that unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force must not be tolerated and reiterated that Japan’s position of “standing with Ukraine” and our solidarity remain unwavering.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that Japan would continue to work to support Ukraine and impose sanctions against Russia in coordination with the G7 and the international community.
- Prior to this courtesy call, State Minister KUNIMITSU laid a wreath at The Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine and visited the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged by recent Russian attacks.
