Result of the fourth Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue on Democratic Resilience

On June 17, the fourth Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue on Democratic Resilience was held at the U.S. Department of State.

  1. Amb. KAIHARA Kentaro, Ambassador in charge of UN Affairs and Deputy Assistant Minister, Foreign Policy Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, as the head of the Japanese delegation, and Amb. Julie Turner, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), the Department of State, as the head of the U.S. delegation, attended the Dialogue.
  2. Both sides exchanged views on human rights cooperation in Asia as well as various issues related to human rights and democracy in global affairs. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in the field of human rights between Japan and the U.S..
