On May 23, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered his message to H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, following the gas explosion that occurred at a coal mine in Shanxi Province, China, at around 8:30 p.m. on May 22 (around 7:30 p.m. local time), and expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives and bereaved families and his sympathies to the affected people, praying for the rescue of as many people as possible and the speedy recovery of those who were injured.
