Courtesy call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ONISHI by H.E. Mr. Gatete, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA)

On May 21, Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Claver Gatete, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI expressed his respect for the activities carried out by UNECA in Africa and welcomed its cooperation in the "Study Group on Strengthening Japan-Africa Economic Partnership" which is scheduled to be launched this year.
- In response, Executive Secretary Gatete expressed his gratitude for the Government of Japan's continued engagement in Africa through the TICAD process, as well as for the various support provided toward economic integration within the African region.
- Both sides agreed to continue working together to further deepen Japan-Africa cooperation in the economic field.
