Diplomats’ Study Tour in Yugawara Town, Kanagawa Prefecture

On May 23 and 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour in Yugawara Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, for diplomatic corps in Japan, co-hosted by Yugawara Town.

  1. The Diplomats’ study tour program, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and local governments, has been held annually since 2010 to introduce diverse charms of Japan’s regions, such as local history, culture, tourism, specialties, and industries, to the diplomatic corps in Japan.
  2. During this tour, under the theme“Yugawara: Hot Spring Culture and Japanese Hospitality Experience”, the diplomatic corps will be introduced to the diverse attractions of Yugawara Town including its history and hot spring culture through the participation in its traditional “Yukake Matsuri".
  3. The tour is expected to deepen the diplomatic corps' understanding of the diverse charms and attractions of Yugawara Town, and to foster stronger ties between Yugawara Town and participating countries.
