On May 14, commencing at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from the Honorable Mark Gordon, Governor of the State of Wyoming, the United States and the Honorable Michelle Lujan Grisham, Governor of the State of New Mexico, the United States during their visit to Japan.

  1. At the outset, State Minister HORII welcomed their second consecutive visit to Japan and noted his expectation that their visit to Japan will contribute to the promotion of Japanese companies’ trade with and investment in both States, while touching upon the economic relationship between Japan and both States. Governor Gordon and Governor Grisham expressed introduced their tourism resources and investment environment, expressing their hope for further investment from Japan in the state.
  2. The two sides also affirmed the importance of grassroot-level people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the States of Wyoming and New Mexico. They concurred to further invigorate future exchanges by leveraging initiatives to promote tourism exchanges between Japan and the United States, including those commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
