The 5th Consular Consultations between Japan and the Philippines

On May 12, the Fifth Consular Consultations between Japan and Philippines were held in Tokyo. Mr.MIBAE Taisuke, Director-General, Consular Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Hon. Anne Jalando-on Louis, Assistant Secretary, Office of Consular Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs of Philippines, both with the participation of other officials, attended the consultations.
- During the consultations, constructive exchanges of views were held on matters of mutual interests in the consular field, including those related to nationals of each country residing in the other’s country. It was also confirmed that both sides will continue to work together to further strengthen cooperation in the consular field with a view to promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, taking into account that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the normalization of the diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
- The next consultations will be held in the Philippines and be scheduled through diplomatic channels.
