Visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI

Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to visit Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan from April 30 to May 6 to hold meetings with government officials and others.
- Central Asia, including Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, is situated at a geopolitically strategic location surrounded by Russia, China, Afghanistan, and other countries, and possesses abundant energy and mineral resources. Strengthening relations with these countries is important for maintaining and reinforcing a free and open international order, as well as for Japan's economic security.
- Building on the outcomes of the first Summit of the “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue as well as bilateral summit meetings last December, exchanges of views are planned to further strengthen bilateral relations.
