On April 23, 2026, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the Netherlands’ King’s Day Reception held at the residence of the Dutch Ambassador to Japan and delivered a speech on behalf of the Government of Japan.

  1. Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI stated that in recent years, Japan-Netherlands relations have developed broadly across a wide range of fields, such as politics, the economy, and culture, noting in particular that many distinguished guests, including His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, visited Japan on the occasion of the Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan last year.
  2. Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI also mentioned that, considering the many challenges facing the international community, the significance of further strengthening cooperation between Japan and the Netherlands, which share fundamental values, is increasing. She expressed Japan’s intention to further deepen cooperation with the Netherlands not only bilaterally but also in the international arena.
