Courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII by Ms. Faalavaau Perina Jacqueline Sila-Tualaulelei, Ambassador of Samoa to Japan

On April 20, commencing at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a farewell courtesy call by H.E. Ms. Faalavaau Perina Jacqueline Sila-Tualaulelei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Independent State of Samoa to Japan.
- At the outset, State Minister HORII appreciated Ambassador Sila’s active engagement and contribution to bilateral relations during her 11-year tenure in Japan, stating that the “kizuna” between Japan and Samoa had deepened further during the ambassador’s tenure, as evidenced by high-level exchanges such as visits by prime ministers and a foreign minister, including during the Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM).
- In response, Ambassador Sila stated that she was pleased to have been able to work on further strengthening bilateral relations, including promoting people-to-people exchanges. She mentioned that she would continue to work hard for deepening Japan-Samoa relations in various capacities even after her departure.
