The 18th Japan-WFP Policy Consultation (Summary of Outcomes)

On April 2, the 18th Japan-WFP Policy Consultation was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Japanese delegation was represented by Ms. NISHIZAKI Hisami, Ambassador for Humanitarian Assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the World Food Programme (WFP) side was represented by Ms. Rania DAGASH-KAMARA, Assistant Executive Director of the WFP.
- Against the backdrop of increasingly severe global humanitarian conditions, the two sides discussed the importance of not only emergency food assistance but also medium- to long-term initiatives based on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus. The two sides also exchanged views on the importance of strengthening cooperation with diverse actors, including Japanese companies, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and NGOs.
- Both sides reaffirmed their continued cooperation between Japan and the WFP in efforts to eradicate global hunger.
