Japan-Türkiye Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Call

On April 1, commencing at 7:30 p.m. for 20 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a telephone call with H.E. Dr. Hakan FİDAN, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.

  1. Minister MOTEGI expressed his grave concern over the current deterioration of the situation in the Middle East, while expressing his respect for Türkiye’s efforts together with Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other countries toward achieving a diplomatic solution. He also expressed Japan’s intention to work closely with the countries concerned, including Türkiye, toward the early de-escalation of the situation.
  2. In response, Minister Fidan stated that, based on the belief that achieving a diplomatic solution through dialogue serves the interests of the region and the international community, Türkiye is undertaking diplomatic efforts; that Türkiye will continue to make every effort toward the early de-escalation of the situation; and that Türkiye wishes to work closely with Japan for peace and stability in the Middle East.
  3. Both ministers concurred on continuing close communication between Japan and Türkiye.
