On March 18, commencing at 4:25 p.m. for approximately 50 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Ms. Anna Louise Duncan, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim, Embassy of New Zealand in Japan. The overview is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister HORII stated that through his visit to New Zealand in February, he realized the potential for further strengthening "Strategic Cooperative Partnership" with New Zealand. In response, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Duncan expressed appreciation for State Minister HORII's visit to New Zealand and expressed desire to work further towards strengthening bilateral relations.
  2. Both sides exchanged views on security, economy, and regional issues, and confirmed their commitment to further strengthening a wide range of cooperation between the two countries.
