On March 18, the Japan-ROK Consultation on Latin America and the Caribbean was held in Seoul. The summary is as follows:
- On March 18, Japan and the Republic of Korea held a consultation meeting on Latin America and the Caribbean in Seoul. The attendants from the Japanese side are officials headed by Mr. ISHIZE Motoyuki, Director-General, Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and from the ROK side officials headed by Mr. Choi Jun Ho, Director-General, Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Both sides engaged in a wide-ranging exchange of views on the regional situation and on their diplomatic policies toward the region, including cooperation in the economic sector and at the regional level, bearing in mind the importance of Latin America in their overall foreign policies.
- Furthermore, both sides reaffirmed the significance of the Japan-ROK Consultation on Latin America and the Caribbean in deepening mutual understanding of each other’s policies amid a changing strategic environment and agreed to coordinate toward holding the next round of consultations.
