Courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII by Mr. Venhuizen, Lieutenant Governor of the State of South Dakota, the U.S.

On March 16, commencing at 4:30 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by the Honorable Tony Venhuizen, Lieutenant Governor of the State of South Dakota, the United States of America. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister HORII welcomed the Lieutenant Governor Venhuizen's visit to Japan and regarding the relationship between Japan and South Dakota, noting his expectation that the Lt. Governor’svisit to Japan will contribute to the promotion of Japanese companies’ trade with and investment in South Dakota. Lt. Governor introduced South Dakota’s tourism resources and investment environment, expressing his hope for further investment from Japan in the state.
  2. The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation between Japan and South Dakota in areas including collaboration among state and local governments and universities, Japan- U.S. cooperation on economic security and supply chain, and the promotion of academic and people-to-people exchanges.
