Courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU by the Norwegian Parliamentary Delegation to the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA)

On March 10, commencing at noon, for approximately 30 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from the Norwegian Parliamentary Delegation to the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) headed by Mr. Tellef Inge Mørland. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU welcomed the delegation's visit to Japan, stating that Norway is an important strategic partner of Japan that shares common values and principles, and expressed her hope to develop bilateral relations in broad areas. In response, Head of Delegation Mr. Møland stated that Norway would like to continue close cooperation with Japan.
  2. The two sides exchanged views on various topics, including the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as regional situations such as those in East Asia such as their policies toward North Korea, Ukraine, and the Middle East.
