Reception to Celebrate His Majesty the Emperor’s Birthday Hosted by Foreign Minister MOTEGI and Mrs. MOTEGI

On March 2, a reception to celebrate His Majesty the Emperor’s birthday, hosted by Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and his spouse, was held at the Iikura Guest House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The reception was attended by approximately 230 representatives such as Ambassadors to Japan, their spouses, members of the Diet, foreign economic and cultural organizations in Japan, and major economic organizations, among others.

  1. In his opening remarks, Minister MOTEGI offered his congratulations on His Majesty the Emperor’s 66th birthday and expressed his respect for the active involvement of Their Majesties the Emperor and the Empress to foster international goodwill. Minister MOTEGI also expressed his determination, as Minister for Foreign Affairs, to pursue diplomacy that has inclusiveness and strength.
  2. At the reception, cuisine made using ingredients from disaster-stricken areas such as Tohoku region and Noto Peninsula, as well as Japanese alcoholic beverages, such as sake, were served.
