The 7th Meeting of the Joint Committee Established under the Japan-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement

On March 2, the 7th meeting of the Joint Committee established under the Japan-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was held in Tokyo.
- At this meeting, Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, served as co-chair for the Japanese side, and Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, Secretary of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, served as co-chair for the Republic of Indian side. Officials from relevant ministries and agencies of both countries attended.
- At this meeting, attendees from both Japan and India discussed the operation and implementation of the Japan-India CEPA, which has been in force for nearly 15 years. They also exchanged views on economic relations between the two countries. The Japanese side reiterated its intention to resolve trade and investment issues faced by both countries and further deepen economic cooperation in various fields, based on the direction of cooperation for the next 10 years to build a mutually complementary relationship, which was announced during the visit of H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India to Japan in August 2025.
- The Government of Japan intends to continue to cooperate closely with the Government of India to further expand economic relations between both countries.
