Visit to Japan by Mr. TOE, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso

From February 23 to February 28, Mr. Herman Yirigouin TOE, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, visited Japan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

  1. During this first visit to Japan for Permanent Secretary TOE, discussions were held with Ms. TAKAHASHI Misako, Director-General of the African Affairs Department, on Japan's diplomatic policy toward Africa, including the TICAD process, regional situations, and matters of common interest in international arena for both countries. This provided an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding between the two nations and confirm continued cooperation.
  2. In addition, during his stay in Japan, Permanent Secretary TOE visited Nagasaki, where he paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Nagasaki. He also toured the Atomic Bomb Museum, Nagasaki University, and other sites, deepening his understanding of the importance of peace and of Japan’s exchanges with Africa.
