Diplomats’ Study Tour in Sumida City

On February 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour in Sumida City, for diplomatic corps in Japan, co-hosted by Sumida Tourism Association.

  1. Diplomats’ study tour program, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and local governments, have been held annually since 2010 to introduce diverse charms of Japan’s regions, such as local history, culture, tourism, specialties, and industries, to the diplomatic corps in Japan.
  2. During this tour, under the theme“Old Meet New Authenticity Sumida in TOKYO”, the diplomatic corps will be introduced to the diverse attractions of Sumida City including Tokyo Skytree, startup co-creation, manufacturing industries, and traditional craftsmanship.
  3. The tour is expected to deepen the diplomatic corps' understanding of the diverse charms and attractions of Sumida City, and to foster stronger ties between Sumida City and participating countries.
