Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister Motegi by a Delegation from Japan Society

On February 16, commencing at 4:10 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from a delegation of Japan Society, currently visiting Japan. The delegation was comprised of Dr. Merit E. Janow, Chairperson; Mr. Douglas L. Peterson, Vice Chair; Mr. Toby S. Myerson, Vice Chair; and Dr. Joshua W. Walker, President and CEO. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- Minister MOTEGI expressed his appreciation for Japan Society’s longstanding role as a core institution in promoting understanding of Japan in the United States, and for its significant contributions to people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the United States across a wide range of fields, including culture, business, and policy dialogue.
- The delegation expressed its gratitude for the support extended by the Government of Japan to the Society over the years. The two sides also exchanged views on Japan-U.S. relations broadly, and on strengthening outreach related to Japan in the United States.
