Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister Motegi by a Delegation from Japan Society

On February 16, commencing at 4:10 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from a delegation of Japan Society, currently visiting Japan. The delegation was comprised of Dr. Merit E. Janow, Chairperson; Mr. Douglas L. Peterson, Vice Chair; Mr. Toby S. Myerson, Vice Chair; and Dr. Joshua W. Walker, President and CEO. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. Minister MOTEGI expressed his appreciation for Japan Society’s longstanding role as a core institution in promoting understanding of Japan in the United States, and for its significant contributions to people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the United States across a wide range of fields, including culture, business, and policy dialogue.
  2. The delegation expressed its gratitude for the support extended by the Government of Japan to the Society over the years. The two sides also exchanged views on Japan-U.S. relations broadly, and on strengthening outreach related to Japan in the United States.
